Two Tracts on Cartomancy

Austin Osman Spare

Fulgur Press

This book is intended to provide an introduction to various techniques of divination using cards as developed by the English artist and sorcerer, Austin Osman Spare (1886-1956). There are two previously unpublished essays by Spare on the methods he employed and illustrations of the few rare surviving examples of his experiments in this field. The work is augmented by an introductory essay by Gavin W. Semple tracing the influence of cartomancy throughout Spare’s life and discussing the sorcerer’s cultivation of his system as a process of working with familiars.
