Mat Hadfield

Hailing from the cold north of the United Kingdom, Mat Hadfield now lives with his family and cat in a quiet corner of Japan in an old house next to a very old shrine. He works as a highschool English languauge intructor but also runs his own buisness as a video editor. Mat is the production manager and host of the Hadean Press podcast, which he enjoys very much as it gives him the opportunity to learn from practiconers of magic from all over the world, and has been studying and practicing magic in one form or other for over twenty five years.

With a particular love for the Graeco-Egyptian and Grimoire strands of occult thought and practice, Mat focuses primarily on the art of Necromancy and the Grimorium Verum. He enjoys spending his time researching various aspects of the European Grimoire Tradition, which is steadily being revealed, and attempting as best he can to finding ways in which we can reintegrate these ancient techniques into our modern practice. Japanese folk religion is the basis of his animism, which orients his understanding of how a living magical tradition should operate. He finds himself fascinated by ideas of Magical Time, Myth and Historiola, as well as Astrology, the Arabic and Greek influences on Europe and heterodox expressions of Christianity.

Mat runs a monthly Guide designed to aid people in establishing a practice based on this research on Substack and also curates several online groups based around the study and practice of the Grimorium Verum and Goetic Sorcery.
