Łukasz Grochocki
Łukasz Grochocki was born in Warsaw, Poland and in 1984 moved to the United States. As he learned English, an interest with languages was sparked. By the age of 12, his fascination with Ancient Egypt lead him to learn how to read hieroglyphs. As a young teenager, Grochocki had torn down his former Christian icons and replaced them with the Kametic gods, turning his life over to the study of Hermeticism. In time, other arcane influences appeared in his life, such as the works of John Dee and Aleister Crowley, as well as the Necronomicon and the Satanic Bible. What intrigued Grochocki with these works was their utter independence from the standard magickal models current at that time.
Inspired by a vision derived from the Chaldean Oracles, Grochocki established The Order of the Fire Fountain. Drawing further on the mathematics of the Enochian system of Dee and Kelly and the mythologies of the Middle East, as well as the writings of HP Lovecraft, a unique magickal aesthetic began to emerge in Grochocki’s art and writings. For the next decade, Grochocki continued to expand his knowledge and ritual practices, incorporating even more occult traditions and fusing them into his ideas of a Cosmology.
By the late 90s, a new vector appeared in the Fire Fountain which would guide Grochocki into the world of mythmaking and the creation of a unique magickal system. Key members of the Fire Fountain entered the trance state called the Whispering Zone, in which a set of 36 sigil-like signs (with their complementary syllabic equivalents) were manifested. These primordial syllables became the first 12 god names of the Fire Fountain. In an attempt at translation, an amalgam of the four ancestral languages was used (these being Mayan, Egyptian, Sumerian and Sanskrit). The translations achieved some very poetic results; however, they were insufficient for Grochocki’s vision. In a flash of insight, the idea of a personal magickal language came forth. This new direct method circumvented all the other external psychic cultural baggage, opening the door for a true apotheosis.
For the last 25 years, the Fire Fountain has been developing from those first syllabic utterances to an eloquent language that manifests these powerful incantations. During these years, Grochocki has been cataloging words, sigils, and expanding his correspondences list. His main forms of expressing the mythos of the Fire Fountain is through his paintings, his hand-made books and tablets, musical compositions, and in rituals. Like a true perpetual motion machine, each new working springs forth new words, which create new ceremonies, which create new works, ad infinitum.
Grochocki’s writings have been featured in esoteric publications such as Pillars, Qliphoth and Sabbatica. In 2020, a collection of his essays was published by Sirius Limited Esoterica entitled, “The Book of Niad Zin.” His art works appear in private collections across the world, and two of his codices are housed in the Art Book Museum in Łodz and the Art Museum in Chełm, Poland. Grochocki has appeared on the Glitchbottle Podcast hosted by Alexander Eth, and his book was reviewed by Denis Poisson on the Foolish Fish youtube channel.
In his words, the Fire Fountain goes beyond himself and he says: “My goal is to share my invented magickal technology with other magickians, so they can use this method to enrich their own workings and get that one step closer to achieving godhood.”
